LIGHTING COMPARISON
FEBRUARY 2012
Here, I was a noob at lighting. I wanted a Night scene with "cool" lighting but I just didn't know how to achieve it.
In this scene, everything is "visable" and almost nothing is properly shaded. The lighting doesn't make anything pop,
and almost nothing is accentuated. Also, it doesn't look like night-time.
AUGUST 2012
Here we can see the lighting is a bit better. Some things pop, and it actually looks like night this time around.
But my mistake here was not having any control. I basically just used my meshes to emit light,
liked the result and called it a day. I've taken a lot of time to learn about lighting since this version.
APRIL 2013
This is where I am at now. The moonlight has a nice saturated blue tone, the shadows have gradients in them
from the environment light as well as from the lights that are on the meshes. I have a ton more control here
and nothing is lighting through emissive. It's all diliberate, and controlled. I think the scene has much
more depth overall and greatly benefits from the lighting.
