TWO TOWERS BREAKDOWNS
This is a project I did in order to learn the workflow for CryEngine3. I went into this project with no knowledge of CE3 but was able to gather tons of
info in order to learn how to do many things with the engine. I learned everything from Terrain creationm, to Material creation, up to installing exporters
for Photoshop and Maya.
One of the neat things I did with the tower is double up the mesh in order to texture it in two different ways.
After creating the simple geo for the tower:
I then created a tilable texture for it:
After getting the tilable texture for it just right, I then created a duplicate of the geometry and made it .001 bigge
and laid out the UV's in a non-tilable planar fashion:
I made that larger mesh a decal object in CE3 and then gave it a Graffiti/Grime texture:
Finally, once the overlay was complete, I added Rust decals:
